Story of the Week

Reb Avraham of Stretin was a great and interesting Tzadik. He used to give Segulos (supernatural cure) for people who needed. Once another Tzadik approached him and asked him for a Segulah on Yiras Shamayim.

The Tzadik of Stretin answered, “A Segulah for Yiras Shamayim I can’t give you, but I can give you a Segulah for Ahavas Hashem.”

The Tzadik answered, “Ok, I’d like to have a Segulah for Ahavas Hashem.”

The Tzadik of Stretin answered, “A Segulah for Ahavas Hashem is Ahavas Yisroel – to love every Yid”.

It’s worthwhile to mention here Rav Avigdor Miller’s technique for Ahavas Yisroel. He said, “When you greet a Yid in the street, repeat the greeting to yourself a few steps later, with the image of that Yid in your mind and wish for that Yid all good things in the world! That will bring you to Ahavas Yisroel.”
